Class Description
Introducing the only Face Filter Design Class in San Diego! This 3 week series is a beginner-friendly Interactive 3D class where students experiment with Augmented Reality using Spark AR and Blender. Both of these programs are free to download and use for personal and commercial purposes!
Get started in AR using Open Source Software!
A 3D model along with an animated texture will be provided, and students will be guided hands-on through importing, adding materials & textures, and connecting modules inside the Patch Editor.
Take advantage of Spark's built-in Face Tracker
The first week is designed for students to apply blended Face Masks to Face Trackers. Week 2 aims to cover Lighting and Patch editor features to animate objects procedurally at runtime.
Combine Blender models with Spark's Face Mesh
Manipulate materials and lighting on a Face Mesh using Face Paint and other Shader effects.
Publish to Facebook and Instagram
Publish and sharing on social media platforms is the best part! Grow your audience organically and get feedback from your community!
Target trackers and Custom markers
The third and final week will cover the process of creating a Fixed Target Tracker using a custom marker. Using such triggers will activate Augmented Reality environments for 3D animated objects to exist. These animations will appear when the marker is recognized by the mobile device’s camera and will include audio along with textures and environmental lighting.
