This is a Beginner-Level Workshop for kids and teens. No experience with computers or tablets is necessary. Recommended for ages 7 and up.

Class Description
Learn to draw and animate using digital tools in San Diego! This 3-session series is a beginner friendly class where students use Krita, focusing on incorporating digital tools with traditional drawing principles. Students do not need any computer experience, but should have an interest in drawing and designing characters.
Pen Pressure makes a difference!
After introducing the program and landscape of where to work, students should get a feel for the pen and pressure. Warms them up and gets them started.
Drawing Heads and Faces
It is important to draw from reference as well as from memory. Students will do both while practicing perspective and proportion.
Static vs Active Posing
Posing is a crucial part of convey emotion. Learn how to best communicate your story through body positioning and camera angles.
Identify anatomy
Stick figures are an excellent way to introduce joints because of the simple lines. Learning about human anatomy can also lead to discussions about animal anatomy and possibly hybrids.
Convey emotion with eyes
Variation in eyes helps give personality and a sense of life. Highlights, lashes, and other details will be covered to best represent your original character!
FX Dojo is committed to combining art and technology in a well-rounded educational environment. This Concept Art class will have at least three teachers present for each class. All teachers are well versed in traditional and digital art, in order to provide students with relevant support inside and outside the classroom.
