19 Aug Google Cardboard Workshop – Friday Sep 16
Join us at FX Dojo for a non-digital workshop! Okay, that’s not totally true because we’re building a VR headset… but the headset will be made with cardboard!
This Do-It-Yourself project is to motivate and inspire local artists to participate in the upcoming Google Cardboard Art Show taking place at the San Diego Maker Faire 2016.
Google Cardboard Design Show
FX Dojo teams up with the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park and SDVR to feature local artists at Maker Faire 2016.
Call for Submissions
We’re looking for funky and original designs that still function as a VR headset. Use paint, mixed mediums, and at least 50% cardboard to make your own cellphone-holding apparatus.
Lenses and cardboard provided!
Come to FX Dojo on Friday, September 16th 5pm-7pm. We will supply everything you need to build a Google Cardboard headset. After you cut and assemble your VR headset, you’ll have the option to paint it at home, embellish it, or reuse the lenses and completely start over with a new idea!
Friday, 9/16: FX Dojo assemble your own Cardboard Workshop – learn how to assemble a normal first generation Google Cardboard headset to kickstart your creativity!
Wednesday, 9/28: Cardboard Submission deadline – drop off at Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park or FX Dojo (drop off dates and times TBA)
Saturday/Sunday 10/1 and 10/2: Google Cardboard exhibit at Maker Faire in the Tinkering Studio at Fleet
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions!
This workshop is free and open to all ages.
